i'm still alive

hiiiii i'm back!!

preview for #20 is up on the main site, cos we've (i've) still no idea how to get the photos the perfect size for this blog.

it either gets cut off or is to small,

so like not much point is there?

i like to think that i got some rest the past few days.

Touched down on Wednesday, and headed straight to school.

yes, during the holidays.

Managed to catch Harry and the half-blood Prince on thursday with joyce,
coupled with a haircut at long last.
i was literally tearing my hair out in London.
dry weather + busy schedule = knots and tangles in hair
i honestly didn't feel the two weeks go by at all.

typical schedule during competition week:

wake up at 8 am
breakfast
pack equipment
competition 1
lunch
competition 2
back to hotel
shower, rest
dinner + drinks at various bars/events around London.

We did Montgomery on our own most of the time, and it was good.

but my pick of the lot were (because i'm a sucker for themes):

Callooh Callay in East London, simply because it was an Alice in Wonderland themed bar, and i'm such a fan.
Check out how it has a main room, followed by several other rooms, to which you've to go through, get this, a smalled mirrored door on what looks like a wardrobe. i was uber psyched by the through-the-looking-glass concept, which CC refused to acknowledge.
Lounge Bohemia, for the absolutely wacky drinks and homely decor.
i actually managed to get photos on my cam at that place, cos it was one of those nights we actually got to relax among people you can chill out with, instead of the non-stop socialising with the usual assortment of big names.
Will upload those when i get my memory card back.
i havent got much photos, just in case you were wondering.
can't camwhore under pressure, sorry.
Cabinet Room, a fully-equipped, well stocked bar, get this, in Simon Difford's sitting room.
Just there for practical purposes.
Something like what one rochester tries to emulate i suppose.
Headed to Milk & Honey after the last night of the competition, but i guess i was slightly less than impressed?
Shopping wise, London's on the expensive side (well, what do you expect?)
i didn't buy much, mostly for fear of exceeding the luggage allowance
my case weighed 30kg on the flight back, but apparently it being a BA flight from heathrow made it ok, so i saved 70pounds.
at least 70 percent of the weight was from the equipment, even though i threw a lot away.
Amsterdam was soooooo pretty, with its canals and people on bicycles and vespas and well dressed people.
but the cam ran out of juice by then, and anyway we were only there for the night.
not sure if its a european thing not to have airconditioning, but not only did the room not have aircon (it had a standing fan)
i got horrible bed bug bites all over my right side, just from that one night.
all in an awesomely decorated boutique hotel.
headed to Schiedam in Rotterdam to visit the Ketel One Vodka distillery,
which i'm sure would have been more educational had i not been practically falling asleep.
That about sums up my two weeks away,
and now i'm back just in time for a real holiday with the besties.
(London was pretty much a working trip)
And then its back to school.
Plus my new job, plus i've to go back to Prime.
I honestly need more hours in my days.
